Escola Parlenda and Learning by Languages®: from certified school to strategic partner in Brazil

A journey of training, certification and growth that becomes a network

Context

Escola Parlenda, founded in Curitiba (Brazil), is a renowned nursery and preschool known for its high educational standards and focus on the child’s central role in learning. In 2018, the school embarked on a five-year training journey with the Learning by Languages® Team. The goal was to renew its pedagogical practice and embrace an approach centered on children’s expressiveness, atelier culture, relationships, learning experiences, and discovering nature.

Objectives

  • Strengthen the skills of the educational team through continuous training.
  • Integrate the Learning by Languages® method into daily educational planning and adapt it to the Brazilian context.
  • Build an educational identity that is recognized internationally.
  • Become a reference hub for training and consultancy in Brazil.

The Contribution of Learning by Languages®

The partnership, developed over five years of continuous collaboration, included:

  • Remote and in-person training sessions with the Learning by Languages® team.
  • Shadowing and study experiences in nurseries and preschools in Reggio Emilia, Italy
  • Joint observations and reflections on transforming educational practice.
  • Supervision of the implementation process and quality assurance checks.

In 2023, Escola Parlenda obtained certification of compliance with the Learning by Languages® method, becoming part of the international network of accredited schools.

Sonia Sillas, the school’s director, shares:

“Since 2018, Escola Parlenda has been engaged in a continuous training process with the Learning by Languages® team. […] This training has not only enriched our educators’ knowledge but has also strengthened our commitment to delivering quality education focused on meaningful learning and valuing linguistic and cultural diversity.

Results

  • Systematic and integrated adoption of the Learning by Languages® method.
  • Official recognition through compliance certification.
  • Growth of the school’s pedagogical identity and reputation locally and nationally.
  • Launch of a new phase: a training partnership with the Italian team.

Today, Escola Parlenda actively collaborates with Learning by Languages® in training other partners and clients in Brazil. The school facilitates training sessions, study groups, consultancy activities, and pedagogical support at a national level.

Significance

The journey of Escola Parlenda demonstrates how a targeted and sustained investment in professional development can generate concrete and sustainable outcomes—not only in educational quality but also in professional and commercial visibility.

Becoming a Learning by Languages® accredited school means more than adopting a method; it means joining an active, generative network in which acquired skills can be transformed into opportunities for development, visibility, and collaboration.

Learning by Languages will be present at Didacta Italia 2026, from 11 to 13 March, at Stand W14 – Spadolini Attico Pavilion, together with Educademi and Edizioni Junior.
